Herschell Adorm Meadows

Sgt. Herschell Adorm Meadows 66, of Greers Ferry passed away at his home Wednesday January 20th. He was born in Wabbaseka, Ark. Nov. 20, 1949. Herschell is survived by his wife Sharon Meadows and his beloved Blood Hound Ellie Mae; three sons, Jack Adorm Meadows of Little Rock, Jared Adorm Meadows and wife Dawn Meadows of North Little Rock, Robbie Gibbons and wife Amy Gibbons of Bryant; two daughters, Heather Brewer of Little Rock and Misty Gibbons of Heber Springs; one brother, Adorm John (Claude) Meadows of North Little Rock, one sister, Shelia Clendenin's and husband Rocky Clendenin's of Jacksonville. Herschell served eight years in the Marines starting in 1969. From there he went to the Arkansas National Guard where he remained for 22 years and employed at Camp Robinson. He did two tours in Iraq and The Gulf War. He has received numerous awards and medals. He retired from the National Guard in 2009. After retirement he became an official committee member for the Boy Scouts in Greers Ferry. He was our military hero. His memorial service will be held on January 29th at 1pm at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery 1501 West Maryland Ave. in North Little Rock.
