Clomer Eugene "Gene" Young

CLOMER EUGENE "GENE" YOUNG, age 80, of Little Rock, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016. He was born April 15, 1935 in Ada Valley, a son of the late Clomer Cleo Young and Dora Mae Addington. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and Marine Corps. After serving four years in the military, he returned to Morrilton where he went to work for Winrock Farms. He went on to serve as Winthrop Rockefeller's body guard in Little Rock with the Arkansas State Police. He later returned to Morrilton and began several successful business adventures. Up until a week before his passing, he was still by his wife's side continuing his work ethic that he learned from his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Charton Young; children: Pam Springer of Conway, Scott Young of Conway, Tom (Angie) Young of Greenville, S.C., and Erick Duvall of Little Rock; grandchildren: Cody (Amy) Springer, Nicki (Elvis) Woolsey, Corey (Kayleigh) Springer, Lisa Young, Jacob (Lexie) Young, Jason (Ashley) Young, Joie Young, and Raegan Scott; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Barbara Young and Debra Daugherty; brothers-in-law, Steve (Janan) Charton and Mike Charton; nephew, Wayne (Kim) Young; niece, Natalie Young; and many other close family and friends that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Wayne Young; and daughter, Lisa Janine Youn. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Harris Chapel with Steve Wear officiating. Burial will be at Ada Valley Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Family will receive friends 6–7:30 p.m., Monday, March 7 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Cody Springer, Corey Springer, Elvis Woolsey, Jacob Young, Jason Young, and Wayne Young.
