Doug Quillin

Doug Quillin, age 81, of Gurdon, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 in Arkadelphia. He was born Aug. 2, 1934 in Arkadelphia to the late Clarence and Mamie Johnson Quillin. Doug was a member and deacon of Center Pont Baptist Church where he served as music director for over 40 years. He owned and operated Doug's Grocery in Gurdon for many years. He served on the board of the Housing Authority, the Central Arkansas Development Council and the Senior Council for Aging all in Gurdon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Coon Quillin on July 5, 2015. Survivors are two sons, Randall Ouillin (Beverly) of Arkadelphia, Ronald Quillin (Sonja) of Huntington, Ark.; five grandchildren, Cassie Cagle (Chris), Cody Quillin (Tiffany), Kayla Stockton (Clint), Brett Quillin (Taryn) and Lauren Ouillin; nine great-grandchildren, Hayden and Jason Stockton, Sarah, Jacob and Meghan Cagle, Zoey and Aria Ouillin, Mason Pagan and Brantlee Grace Ouillin and one brother, Horace Bell (Jean) of Arkadelphia. Services will 10 a.m. Monday, March 21 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Bro. Ollie Trout officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Center Point Baptist Church. Online register is available at www.ruggleswilcox.com.
