MARY LYNN WATKINS, 86, of North Little Rock, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Premier Health & Rehabilitation in North Little Rock, Ark. She was born Dec. 4, 1929 to Hugh and Pauline Barringer Thompson in Brookland, Ark. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sue Thompson Thweatt. She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Alvin Max Watkins; son, Max Thompson Watkins and wife Tracy of Marshall, Texas; daughter, Susan Watkins Gertson and husband Rodney of Edmond, Okla.; grandsons: Wesley Watkins, Jesse Watkins, Daniel and Kimberly Gertson, Micah and Jannat Gertson, and Nathan and Claire Gertson; great-granddaughter, Addison Watkins and great-grandson Jonah Gertson; sister, Joyce Thompson Isaacs of Jackson, Miss.; brother, Elvis Percy Diggs of Scott, Ark. and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Lynn was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, Ark. where she was involved in many ministries using her gift of hospitality. She also served in several leadership roles during more than 30 years of involvement in the Baptist Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary. A memorial service will be at First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, 1208 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Ark. 72076 at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016. Rev. Dr. Debbie Freeman will be officiating. Inurnment will follow at noon at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock.
