Jack Davis Harris, 88 of Searcy passed away on March 23, 2016. He was born October 13, 1927 in Turrell, Arkansas. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Hope Harris, two sons, Robert Harris of Harrison, Arkansas and Lee Harris (Mary Ann) of Hixson, Tennessee, two step-daughters, Teresa Moore (Ronnie) of Searcy and Jill Rose (Randy) of Harrison, Arkansas, ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Clara Harris, a brother, Bill Harris, a sister, Claudette Alexander, and his first wife, Mary Ann Whitaker Harris. Jack served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired educator in the Memphis City Schools and was a commercial flight instructor. Jack loved flying airplanes and fishing. He volunteered on many boards and committees in the community, including White River Area on Aging, Silver-Haired Legislature, White County Medical Center, White County Literacy, Harding University Resident's Council and AARP. He was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ. A Memorial Service will be this Saturday March 26, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Cloverdale Church of Christ, with visitation following.
