Camillo J. "Dee" Detore

Camillo J. "Dee" Detore, 84, of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Detore was born March 30, 1932, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Tony and Lucy Cepullio Detore. He was reared and received his education in Greensburg. He received a baseball and a football scholarship from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he graduated with a degree in education. He still holds the record for the longest kick- off return at the college. He married Jeanette Rogers on December 15, 1953. They moved to Pine Bluff in 1959, when he went to work for International Paper Company (currently Evergreen Packaging). He worked there for 34 years and retired in 1993 as a supervisor over the extruder department. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. After retirement, he enjoyed going to the horse races, playing golf, and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Mr. Detore is survived by his son, Gregg (Meddie) Detore of White Hall; daughters, Jan (Carl) Patterson of Pine Bluff and Rosemary Detore ( Rick Clark) of Greenland, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kris (Courtney) and Hunter Patterson and Leslie Detore; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Alyssa Patterson; sister, Mary Louise Danks of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; and a brother, Vince Detore of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Jeanette Detore, and two brothers, Anthony and Dickey Detore. A vigil will be Friday, November 4, 2016, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson with Father Joe Marconi officiating. A visitation will follow the vigil, 6:30-7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 5, 2016, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joe Marconi officiating.
