Errol Dewain Miller

Errol Dewain Miller, 95, of Little Rock, passed away November 8, 2016., He was born December 18, 1920, in Star City, Arkansas. Errol was a graduate of Monticello High School and the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 - 1946 and was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded in battle. He worked in Memphis for 3 years. He later moved to Little Rock and worked for Baldwin Shell Construction Company. He then served as Production and Customer Service Manager for Winburn Tile for 36 years. Errol was loved by all who knew him. He had a warm sense of humor and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was ordained as a deacon by Dr. R.G. Lee at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis. He served as church treasurer for over 25 years, and was a choir member and deacon at Gaines Street (later Olivet) Baptist Church for 41 years. He later served as a deacon and choir member at First Baptist Church in Little Rock until he was no longer physically able to serve. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ruth Hartness Miller; his son, Rama Miller(Charlotte); his daughter, Carla Daniel(Jim); three grandchildren, Allison Miller McLean(Caleb), Mark Daniel (Stacy), and Rebekah Daniel Mushinski (Ryan); one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Daniel, and many nephews and nieces. Errol was preceded in death by a grandson, Calvin Miller. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Parkway Place Baptist Church, 300 Parkway Place Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas followed by a graveside service at noon at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
