Archie Andrew Newby

Archie Andrew Newby, age 83, departed this life on November 21, 2016. He was born and raised in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, the oldest of eleven children of Jewel and Venyan Newby. He served four years in the United States Navy and three years in the United States Army. After leaving the Military, he was a helicopter mechanic and worked with some of the early pioneers in the industry. He also worked in general aviation and the airlines. He went to work for F.A.A. in 1970 and retired in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Alease; three sons, David, Matt and Richard and three grandchildren, Aaron, Anna, Alyssa and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Jerry and three sisters, Betty, Sandee and Linda. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 26th at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock, Ark. 72205. Visitation will precede the services starting at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29th at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
