Claudine Arnold Baker

Claudine Arnold Baker, 81, of Indianola, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at South Sunflower County Hospital. She was born in Drew, Mississippi and was the daughter of Willie Fred and Louise McDaniel Arnold. Claudine worked for 14 years as a telephone operator for Southern Bell. She continued her career as a bank teller with Peoples Bank and Community Bank for 40 years until her retirement. She was a resident of Indianola for 59 years, and a member of Second Baptist Church. Claudine was loved and well respected by her family and friends. Her contagious smile and infectious personality exhibited the spirit of a life of Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred Allen Arnold; sisters, Barbara Jean Arnold Powell, Jurline Arnold Steed; and grandson, Matthew Ryon Baker. Claudine leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Milton Baker of Indianola; son, Stanley Baker and wife Cynthia of Rogers, Arkansas; daughter, Deborah Baker Dempsey of Shreveport, Louisiana; and grandchildren, Shelley Baker Edwards, Ryon Elizabeth Edwards, Mason Alexander Edwards all of Flower Mound, Texas, and Hannah Grace Dempsey of Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 23rd from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Burton Funeral Home Chapel.
