Jack Edward Moseley went to be with our heavenly Father on November 19. He began his career as an Emergency Medical Tech with Griffin Leggett Funeral Home which also operated as an ambulance service. Jack was an Embalmer and Funeral Director for 65 years with The Griffin Leggett Companies and Little Rock Funeral Home where he served approximately 16,000 families. Jack trained many apprentice embalmers and funeral directors from all over the state of Arkansas. Born to William Edward and Ada Naomi Moseley in Prescott, Arkansas on February 23, 1925, his mother moved the family to a home on Fifth Street in Little Rock following the death of his dad when Jack was 6 years old. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Eva Baskin and Sybil Kirkes; and brother, W.R. Moseley. His wife of almost 62 years, Mary Ann Adams Moseley, died in 2010. Also predeceasing Jack were his beloved German Shepherd dogs, Biff, Biffer, and Fibber. After attending Little Rock (Central) High School, Jack served in the U.S. Army. He was a Disabled American Veteran of World War II, during which he operated anti-aircraft artillery on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, South Pacific. After an Honorable Discharge from the Army, Jack attended Little Rock Junior College and Landig College of Mortuary Science in Houston, Texas, where he was an honor graduate. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Adams in 1948. She was a constant source of love and support throughout their life together. Jack was a member of Elks Lodge 1004 in North Little Rock where he was Elk of the Year. He loved Palomino horses, owning Poncho, Golden Nugget, Sundown, and Sunny. He loved to watch movies about cowboys and horses. He was a member and deacon of Life Line Baptist Church. Jack spent his last years after Mary Ann died in Searcy with Julie, also known as Rootie, and Terry. Daddy was a blessing to our lives and we enjoyed his company, his sense of humor, his stories, and his love for us. Jack is survived by his daughter, Julie Smith and husband, Terry of Searcy, Ark.; his son, Jack Moseley of Bryant, Ark., daughter-in-law, Fran Moseley of Bryant, and sister-in-law, Catherine Adams Jenkins of Lee's Summit, Mo. Jack has seven grandchildren, Deron (Becca), Deanna (Henry), Scott (Kim), and Jonathan (Anna) Smith, Jackson (Brittany) and Andrew (Brooke) Moseley, and Tiffany Williams; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. Jack loved his family and spent many hours teaching Julie and Jack to play golf, baseball, and football and later, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They loved to spend time with their Granddaddy and he had a nickname for each of them. He was especially fond of and grateful to Michelle Hood and Laura Smith. Jack became "family" to the staff at Unity Health-White County Medical Center. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who loved and cared for Jack and his family, especially to Dr. Jim Citty, Dr. David Wyatt, Shari Wells, APRN, 3West Nursing Station, Unity Home Health and Cardiopulmonary. The family will receive friends at Little Rock Funeral Home on Friday, November 25 from 5-7 p.m., with the funeral on Saturday, November 26 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
