Marlene Lantrip of Scott died April 9, 2017. She was born Jan. 21, 1939 to the late Joseph Kenneth Coombs and Phyllis Norton Coombs. Marlene was very proud of being the first female crane operator at the Puget Sound Naval shipyard. She was a member of Willow Creek Baptist and volunteered at Springhill Baptist Hospital. Marlene was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Strohman; husband Dale Lantrip, Sr., and two children, Troy Allen Sharp and Rosemarie Joan Lantrip. Survivors include seven children: Mark E. Sharp, James L. Lantrip and wife Debora, Loretta L. Ledesma and husband Tino, Dale Lantrip, Jr. and wife Anne, Bobby J. Lantrip, Wayde E. Sharp, and Darren E. Sharp; sisters Gail Murphy and husband David and Patti Baker; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Marlene will be entombed with her husband at the AR State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
