John Bennett Dawson Jr. of North Little Rock, died August 5, 2017. He was born September 19, 1934 to John and Blanche Part Dawson in St. Francisville, La. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters.
John joined the Marines in 1953 and served two years in Korea. He retired from New Orleans Public service after 35 years. After Hurricane Katrina flooded their home, John and his wife Marian, moved to North Little Rock.
John is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Marian Lehmann Dawson; three children; five grandchildren; two sisters; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday August 8, 2017 at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116.
