Howard Franklin Parris

Howard Franklin Parris, 82, of Lonoke, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Aug. 25, 2017. Howard was born May 8, 1935 in Carbon Hill, Ala., and is the son of Edgar Parris and Dorith Files. He grew up in Earl, one of 13 children of a sharecropper. Howard was a retired steel worker, a Christian, and a wonderful father. He is survived by his sons, Alan and wife Becka, Edgar, Darrell and wife Lucinda, and Mike and wife Tracy, all of Furlow; daughters Cindy and Terry Johnson of Cabot, and Gwen Mayabb of Furlow; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother Bucky of Missouri; and sisters Judy of St. Louis, Mo. and Betty of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle, daughter Pam Chamness, five brothers and three sisters. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
