Patricia (Pat) Ann Anderson Stricker of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully on December 11, 2017. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 18, 1940, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee at Martin, but she lost interest in homemaking and she pursued her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She completed her graduate degree when her daughter was four years old and she was seven months pregnant with her son. Pat worked as a social worker at the Arkansas State Hospital, St. Francis House, and Little Rock Family Practice before working as an independent consultant for nursing homes throughout Arkansas. She then began her private practice as a therapist for PBHC, Lockheed Martin, and McCain Psychotherapy. Pat was passionate about helping others, and along with her friend Connie Kirkland, established the first shelter for victims of domestic violence in the City of Little Rock. A lifelong Episcopalian, Pat was active at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and later at Christ Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir for many years. After raising her two children, Pat loved spending evenings listening to good music at the Afterthought as well as taking annual trips to the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena. She also enjoyed traveling to many different places with friends. Pat was a free-spirit disinterested in conventions and loved by all who knew her. She battled vascular dementia, Alzheimer's, and Glioblastoma with the same tenacity with which she approached everything in life. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Edward Anderson and Rosalie Hilda Scholer Anderson of Tracy City, Tennessee. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine Carol Stricker Chu (husband Joe), her son Scott Alan Stricker (wife Beth), four grandsons, Matthew Joseph Chu, Bradley Anderson Chu, Justin Allen Echols, and Matthew Christopher Echols, as well as a host of other family and friends. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church located on the corner of Fifth and Scott Streets. Interment of ashes will follow the service in the Crease Close. Memorials may be made in Pat's honor to Women and Children First at P.O. Box 1954, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
