Oletha Geneva Wilson Golatt, "known as Honey Pie" was born August 13, 1938, in Marianna, Ark., to James and Ginnie Mae Wilson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Gale Golatt, and Rev. Rodger Golatt, her husband of 52 years. Oletha loved teaching, talking about the Word of God, singing, gardening, hairdressing, cooking, and Christmas decorating. Her favorite holidays were Easter, Mothers' Day, Fourth of July, Christmas and most of all Thanksgiving. Some of her favorites saying were "I am, what I am," "I am, a child of God," and "I ain't got time to play." She was married to the late Rodger Lee Golatt on April 24, 1954, and to this union six children were born. Her singing career started with her husband, as a duet, which evolved into the Golatt Family Quartet now known as the Golatt Links of Harmony, of whom she was the "Matriarch and Booking Manager," for 50 plus years. She also song with the "Song Birds of the South" and the "Spiritualetts of Little Rock. Her signature songs were "Searching," "Get Up," and "When You Hear of My Homegoing." She leaves to cherish her memories: Ceola (Michael) Bailey, Lenora (Waymon) Harris, Kenneth Golatt, Marvin (Cynthea) Golatt, Alice (George) Woolford, Quinton Whitfield, and Dexter Golatt and a host of grands, great-grands, great-great grands, relatives and friends. Family Hour: Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 13602 Hwy. 111, Alexander, Ark. Service: Saturday, 1 p.m. at Antioch Full Gospel Baptist Church, 3824 Antioch Blvd. Little Rock, Arkansas.
