Lewis Dee Hinkle

Lewis Dee Hinkle, 86 of Pine Bluff passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born September 24, 1930 in Memphis, TN to the late Buford and Eunice Thompson Hinkle. He was a member of Summit Baptist Church in Pine Bluff and the VFW. Mr. Hinkle was a veteran of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, where he was the first Arkansan wounded in the Korean conflict. He was a retired mill operator for International Paper. Also preceding him in death were his wife, Alice Mae Waters Hinkle, whom he married on September 3, 1954; a son, Michael Hinkle; a grandson, Jonathan Hinkle; and two sisters, Altha Ammons and Anita Kitchens. Survivors include a son, Lewis (Debbie) Hinkle of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Bernadette (Kimberly Robinson) Hinkle of Russellville; four grandchildren, Carter (Stephanie) Hinkle, Cady Ann (Aaron) Hinkle Grice, Erik Robinson and Emily Robinson; and two great-grandchildren, Charleston Hinkle and Hadlee Hinkle. Graveside services are 1:00PM Friday, February 24, 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Yorktown with Bro. Edward Kitchens and Bro. Todd Anderson officiating. Visitation is 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Nephews will be pallbearers.
