Michael Ray Stevens of Benton, Ark., passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 20th, 2017. Mike was born in Elizabethtown, Ky. on October 23rd, 1958. He grew up in Kentucky, graduated from Jeffersontown High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Mike was married to Shannon Stevens on November 21st, 2009. Mike is survived by his wife, Shannon; his four children, Kaitlin Stevens, Jillian Stevens, Landon Stevens, and Selah Stevens; his two step-children, Austin Trusty and Hudson Trusty; his parents Cecil Stevens of Frankfort, Ky. and Eleanor Stevens of Benton, AR; and many other family members and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis Stevens and Roger Stevens. Mike adored his wife and family—they were his pride and joy. He worked as an Engineer at Molex in Maumelle, Ark. He was an avid student of the Bible, enjoyed daily reading and ministering to others. Mike was passionate about his lay ministry, Next Step--the 12 steps to the Freedom of Christ. He was active in his church, Celebration Baptist in Haskell. Mike was a man of many talents--6 and 12 string guitar, singing, cooking smoked meats, and wood-working including building custom furniture. Mike had a sharp intellect--he possessed several patents on his inventions. Mike had a kind heart, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m on February 25, 2017 at Ashby Funeral Home, Benton, Ark. Pastor Allan Eakin of Celebration Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. on February 24, 2017 at Ashby Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at a later date.
