ELVIS LACY SINGLTON JR., 87, of North Little Rock passed away on January 1, 2017. He was born in Marked Tree, Ark. to the late Elvis L. Singleton, Sr. and Alma Young Singleton. Elvis joined the U. S. Army in 1955, serving as a tank operator. He was a resident of North Little Rock for many years, serving on the board for the Arkansas Optical Association and co-owner of Arkansas Optical for 40 years. Elvis was an avid Razorback fan, fisherman and hunter and he loved to travel to garage sales and auctions. Elvis is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J.W. Singleton and Don Singleton; his wife Sidney Loretta Garland Singleton and his infant daughter, Beverly Lynn Singleton. He is survived by his son, Don Singleton, Jr., daughter, Gloria Singleton Hampton and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nephews, Larry Singleton and Jay W. Singleton, niece, Ann Singleton Condran; and sister, June Dean. A service celebrating Elvis' life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 5 in the chapel at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, NLR, with visitation beginning one hour prior.
