David Wayne Skinner, 53, of Stuttgart passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017. David was born November 29, 1963 in San Mateo, California to the late Vernon Wayne Skinner and Marilyn Elizabeth Cummings. He worked in Stuttgart, as a farmer for most of his life and owned his own mechanic shop. He was survived by his two daughters with Lisa Martin; Tara Christine Shook (Cody) of De Witt and Hannah Michelle Covington (Jeremy) of Camden; five grandchildren, Lola Shook, Hattie Shook, Wesley Shook, Ava Covington and Beau Covington; one sister, Lisa Gayle Skinner of Stuttgart; and one step mother, Mary Skinner of Reydell. David was a good man who loved with all of his heart. He believed in hard honest work, respect, good friendships and above all else, love. He found peace in the deer woods hunting and fishing. He said that the woods were his "church" and where he felt closest to God. He was a self-taught, natural born musician and had the vocal pipes to boot. Music, for David came from deep within for it was his heart, his soul, his fun, his calm and his language. He has played in numerous bands over the years playing southern rock, blues and country music and has entertained many people in many different venues. He was always happy to see other people enjoying the music. A true free spirit, David found solitude in taking his Harley out on long winding roads and stopping at undiscovered locations. David was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He always took such pride in his daughters and grandchildren. Playing with his grandchildren brought joy and lightness to him. He thought they hung the moon, and they him. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will carry on in the hearts of his family and friends. We will make you proud dad, just as you have made us. A celebration of life service will be held in David's honor at Yoder Community Center on Yoder Rd in Stuttgart, Arkansas on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. David's friends will provide music. We invite any and all who loved him to come out and celebrate his life with us. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison. Please sign the online guestbook at www.buiefuneralhome.com. (870) 325-6216.
