Velma Louise Stacy

Velma Louise Stacy, age 79, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Born to the late Charlie and Flora Ballard, Velma resided in Central Arkansas where she raised her children. She was renowned as a loving mother, faithful friend, and gardener. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Stacy, her son Wayne Oliver Sr., daughter, Wanda Stacy, son, Jackie Stacy, grandson, Lance Williams, and great-grandson, Tommy Hindmon. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jerry Stacy, son, Wayne Oliver Jr. (Joey), son, Roger Stacy, daughter, Vicki Honeycutt (Jay), sisters, Wanda Eaglehoff and Alta Caven, daughter-in-law, Angela Stacy, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, and anyone fortunate enough to call her friend. The family would like to extend special thanks for the compassionate care given to Velma by the staff of Hospice Homecare. Also, a special thanks to Barbara Smith and Sarah Jacobs for being her friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock, on Friday, January 20, 2017 with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and funeral service held at 12 noon with a private graveside service following in Atkins, Arkansas.
