Amanda French Crawford, 34, of Benton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 14, 2017. She fought a long and courageous battle with post transplant complications. Amanda was born in Arlington, Texas on April 14, 1983 to Estol and Sharon Myrick French. She was born again into God's family by her faith Jesus Christ and his assurance of the gift of eternal life. She was a 2001 graduate of Benton High School and member of the Southern Bells Choir, receiving many awards. After high school, she attended Henderson State University on a vocal music scholarship, but was diagnosed with cancer during her first year. After her initial battle with cancer, she returned to college to pursue a career in Nursing, later graduating from the College of the Ouachita's school of nursing in 2004. She spent the next decade working as a family practice nurse. Amanda is survived by her husband, Shane Crawford, brother, Justin (Lizzy) French, sister, Jennifer (Brian) Cunningham, parents, Estol and Sharon French and numerous nieces and nephews. Church services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Will Diggs officiating. Burial will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery.
