JOHN L. DAVIS SR., 83, of Jacksonville, Ark., passed away Oct. 22, 2017. He was an Am Trac Mechanic with the US Marine Corps, a retired police officer with the Lonoke Police Department and a Korean War Veteran earning a Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. He is survived by five sons, Robert Davis, John Davis Jr. (Shara), Tracy Davis (Leslie), Casey and Joey Davis; four daughters, Sandra Williams (Raymond) Tamara Lackie (Joe Wayne), Teri Glover (Scot) and Stephanie Davis; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents Raymond Davis and Oma Lee Blohm, one brother, Joe Davis, one sister, Mona Bell Sanderson and one daughter, Tina Bickel. John enjoyed his job as a police officer and was very devoted. He never met a stranger.
