Rosa Jane Wise

Rosa Jane Wise, 91, of Sherwood, departed this life on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. She was born March 13, 1927 in Charlotte, Arkansas to Auther and Myrtle Brogdon. Rosa was a loving wife, mother, and "Nana" who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rosa's roles as a military-wife and mom included full-time teacher, advisor, confidant and life-guide to her sons. She believed the greatest gift a parent could give a child, besides love, was the ability to cope with whatever challenges life might present. She was a dedicated employee at Providential Life for over 20 years until she retired to begin her favorite position full-time: Nana. She loved gardening, knitting, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Auther and Myrtle; son, Steven; brother, Walter; and sister, Juanita. She is survived by three sons, Richard (Carolyn), Terry (Shannon), and Mike (Frances), all of Sherwood; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Rachael, and Brian Wise; brothers, A.L. and Ed; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. followed immediately by funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Interment services will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff of Fox Ridge North Little Rock, Woodland Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation, and Arkansas Hospice for the care and support they provided during their time with Rosa.
