James "Jimmy" Kane Sr.

James "Jimmy" Franklin Kane Sr., age 90, of Benton, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. He was born January 7, 1928 in Benton, Arkansas. Jimmy was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a farmer and a retired Chemist from Reynolds Metals. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason. Jimmy was a member of the Congo Lodge #743 and Congo Hill OES #620. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florence Kane; son, John Kane and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Irene Kane; son, Jim Kane Jr. (Barbara); daughter, Mary Jo Wachob; seven grandchildren, Shannon Sadler (Marty), Stacye Sloan (Chad), Betsy Meharg (Jason), Rus Wilson, Jim Kane (Wendy), Katy Martin and Collin Kane (Brandy); seventeen great-grandchildren, Blaine, Jon & Kane Sadler, Josh & Blake Seals, Emma Covington, Abby, Jack, Lydia, Lily & Josh Meharg, Suzanne, Madeline & James Kane, John & Zackary Dent and Arthur Kane; and one great-great-granddaughter, Amelia Seals. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 7 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 8 at Salem United Methodist Church with burial at Pipkin Cemetery. Bro.
