Margaret Dale Coleman Davis, age 85, of Searcy passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born on April 26, 1933 to Robert W. and Myrtle Coleman in Romance, Arkansas. Margaret was a 1951 graduate of Rose Bud High School where she played basketball for the Lady Ramblers. She remained close to the members of her graduating class and enjoyed attending reunions in Rose Bud and especially the reunion weekends in Branson. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Bobbie Elkins and Jamie Clay, and brother, Alton "Bo" Coleman. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Richard H. Davis, daughters, Sherry Charles and husband Ken of Christiansburg, Va., and Vickie Raff and husband Chris of Searcy. She is also survived by two brothers, Thomas K. "Sprout" Coleman and wife, Shirley, and James Robert Coleman and nephews Ken Coleman and wife Peggy, Nick Coleman, Tracy Coleman, Monty Coleman and wife Lisa, Jason Coleman and wife Amy and Jeff Clay and wife Amy, and ten great nieces and nephews. Margaret was a retired business woman who co- owned and operated Davis Furniture and Appliance with husband Richard for 31 years until their retirement in 1985. With Richard she enjoyed several trips abroad touring Europe, South America and the Caribbean Islands. Margaret was an accomplished horse woman showing and winning on registered Racking horses across Arkansas and the mid-South. She loved the outdoors working in her flowers and watching and feeding the birds, especially her hummingbirds. She loved all animals and had a special fondness for her red Irish Setters. She also loved to fish and cherished the times spent fishing for crappie with Richard on Lake Ouachita and Greers Ferry. Margaret was a past member of the Searcy Chamber of Commerce, CARTI/Searcy Auxiliary, Downtown Merchants Association, Arkansas Racking Horse Association and the Lambert Terrace Garden Club. She was a charter member of West Side Church of Christ where she attended faithfully until her health declined. The family would like to thank the staff at Searcy Health and Rehab for their professionalism, loving, attentive care. Margaret loved and lived for her family; they always came first. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy. Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be in Romance Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Searcy Children's Home, PO Box 1141, Searcy, Ark., 72145, the Romance Cemetery Fund, c/o Bob Conder, 127 Highway 31, Romance, Ark., 72136, the charity of one's choice.
