William Gordon Husted

William (Bill) Gordon Husted, 71, passed away at home August 9th with his wife Mary and step-daughter Erin by his side. Born to Harleth and Peggy Husted on October 8th, 1946, he was a newspaper man at heart. After a professional life in newspapers, including the Arkansas Democrat, and a stint in advertising, Bill joined the Atlanta Journal Constitution in 1990 where he served as Technology Editor, columnist, and business reporter. In 1993 he started writing a popular syndicated column, Technobuddy, which he continued after retirement. Bill was an amateur ham radio operator, an interest he developed while in high school that stayed with him the rest of his life. Sundays you could find him communicating with a close circle of friends who shared his passion, including his uncle, Bill Key. Survivors include his wife, Mary Donovan, stepchildren, Ryan and Erin Bauslaugh, brother, Scott Husted, sister, Susan Murch (Carl), niece, Laura Shudrowitz (Brian), and nephew, Matthew Murch. A family graveside service will be held in Oceanside California. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
