JOYCE EVELYN RANDOF, 65, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018. She was born on July 9, 1953 in Clarksville, Ark., to the late Carl Robert and Oney Dealey Randof. Joyce had a 40 year career with UAMS, she always provided excellent patient care, advocated for patients and staff, and was dedicated to quality outcome. She began her career in 1978 as a staff nurse working on an inpatient unit focused on burn, general surgery, and neurosurgery patients. Being promoted to a nurse leader of that unit, Joyce successfully cared for patients for 14 years and made an impact on nurses that came there as students and staff. Many of the nurses that Joyce mentored throughout her nursing career have become leaders in their own right, and continue to support high quality care today. Joyce served in the roles of Nursing Director for Quality, Nursing Director of Medical Surgical Areas, Nursing Director for the Critical Care Areas, and Director of Nursing Informatics. In the Director of Nursing Informatics role, Joyce shared her vast clinical and operational knowledge to help design the tools that support the nurses today. During her employment, Joyce completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Nursing Administration degrees at the UAMS College of Nursing. Joyce later went on to become a Certified Nurse Executive. Joyce excelled in every role she held, and her scope of influence impacted countless others. Joyce leaves a legacy, of providing exemplary care to staff and patients alike. Joyce was a nursing pillar at UAMS and her influence, impact, and presence will remain for years to come. Joyce had a strong Christian faith and was a dedicated member of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock. She will be missed by many. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Randof (Josh Green); sister, Carla (Rick) Polidoro; brothers, David Randof and Robert Randof. She also leaves behind her loving dog, Micah.
