Gary Charles Miller, 63, of Hot Springs, passed at home on Saturday, August 25, 2018. He was born on May 23, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas to his parents William and Imogene Miller. He grew up in Arkansas along with his younger brother, Alan. Gary attended Hall High School where he was actively involved as a member of National Honor Society and Beta Club, awarded the Outstanding Student in Physics and Chemistry, and the First-Chair All-State alto saxophone player. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University, magna cum laude, where he was a Hanszen College Fellow, a Southwest Conference Sportsmanship Representative, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After college, he went to the University of Texas School of Law where he graduated with his Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors. He pursued a successful legal career as a partner at Andrews Kurth, L.L.P. (and predecessor by merger, Mayor, Day, Caldwell & Keeton, L.L.P.) in Houston, Texas before making the move to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he joined Miller Miller Churchwell, and helped numerous clients in matters such as complex bankruptcy cases, general litigation, and family law. Despite his numerous accomplishments and accolades, he always stated his proudest accomplishment was being the father to his children, Daniel and Sarah Miller, who are left to honor, love, and remember him along with their mother Karen; his mother, Imogene; younger brother, Alan; nephews, Jeffery and Michael; daughter-in-law, Lisa; cherished grandson, Trevor (who called him Grandpa "Buddy"), Mary Catherine; adored pets, Cleo and Orville, and countless cherished friends. He is reunited in death with loved ones like his father, William Scott Miller; grandparents; great friends such as Wes and Lindy, and beloved dogs, Hanszen, Dylan, Harry, Larkin, and Barney. Memorial service will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. (501)224-8300.
