James Elwood Kelley

James Elwood Kelley, 83, passed away on Dec. 13, 2018 in Bentonville. He was born on Jan. 24, 1935 in Roganville, Texas to the late Cena R. and Aline (Hawthorne) Kelley. He was the loving husband of 64 years to Joyce Evelyn (Dorow) Kelley. James retired from Dallas, Texas to Tyler, Texas after 30 years of service with the Internal Revenue Service. They moved to Bentonville in 2015 to be closer to family. He was a very devoted family man who loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his church family and was very involved with his church in Tyler, Texas, the Colonial Hills Baptist Church. His favorite passion, besides his wife, was playing golf. James is survived by his wife, Joyce Evelyn of Bentonville; sons, Jim Kelley, Jr. (Sheresa) of Florida and Mark A. Kelley of Texas; daughter, Melissa Kelley-Tyndall of Centerton; brother, Keith Kelley (Sherry) of Tennessee; 2 sisters, Carolyn Ann McFaddin and Kathryn Moody, both of Texas; 6 grandchildren, Evan Kelley, Chris Kelley (Lacey), Nicole Busse (Sean), Trey Tyndall (Carrie), Stuart Tyndall (Melissa C.) and Aimee Rundel (Shawn); 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson, Dax; and most importantly, his 3 dogs, Pnut, Butter, and Jelly. A visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 from 11-12 p.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12 p.m. in the Chapel.
