Connie LaVerne Hay

Connie LaVerne Hay, 67, of North Little Rock passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018. She was born September 22, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Hay; daughter, Tiffany (David) Sparks; mother, Doris Adcock; brother, Ricky (Margaret) Adcock; two grandsons, Tucker and Bear Sparks. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Adcock; and her sister, Carolyn Adcock Wellenberger. Connie was a true homemaker and everyone who walked in their house felt at home. Her first love was Johnny and they had a bond that could not be broken. They shared everything in life especially laughter which was felt by everyone around them. Connie took care of Johnny and Johnny took care of Connie – all done with a sense of loyalty, commitment, and love that all marriages should be built on. Her next love was her daughter, Tiffany, whom she adored. Connie always said that in Tiffany, she got "exactly what she prayed for!" She was a devoted mom who doted and bragged on her only daughter for 26 years – until she had her first grandson, Tucker. Then she became MeMee - a name she would cherish for 18 years and wore proudly (even on her license plate). Her 2nd grandson, Bear, came along 20 months later and her job as MeMee was full-time. She loved her boys with her whole heart. Her favorite past-time was watching Tucker and Bear play baseball. She was an avid fan and her presence at their games was palpable. Connie was feisty, opinionated, spunky, hilarious, comforting, and unique - most importantly, she was faithful. She was faithful to her family but first to God. She prayed every day without fail and truly had faith that would move mountains. She never said "it can't be done" and wouldn't tolerate anyone else uttering those words. Connie will be missed deeply but in the beautiful words of her great niece Ann Claire Johnson – "I can't wait to see her in all the fabulousness that surrounds us." Memorials may be made to Children's Homes, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Levy Church of Christ. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
