Cecil Thornberry

Cecil Thornberry, age 84, of Benton, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018. He was born February 6, 1934 in Marianna, Arkansas. Cecil retired from Owosso and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rizzie Thornberry; wife, Joyce Marie Thornberry; four brothers, Richard, Clinton, Eugene and Tilmon Thornberry; four sisters, Lucille Thornberry, Freda Gilmore, Maxine McClain and Gertrude Johnson and a son-in-law, Timothy Haynes. He is survived by two sons, Freemont Thornberry (Becky) and Frederick Thornberry (Melissa); daughter, Carolyn Marie Haynes; sister, Alice Witham; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 2 at Ashby Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 at Mt. Harmony Cemetery. Pastor Doug Pruitt will be officiating.
