Helen Elizabeth Pollard, 97, passed away July 14, 2018. Helen was born in El Dorado, Ark. to the late RM and Ruth Foster. She is survived by her children: Jim Pollard (Mary), Paul Pollard (Amber) and Sharon Jackson (Don); grandchildren: Aaron Hunter, Scott Hunter, Will Pollard (Lakyn), Luke Pollard (April) and Janet Pollard; great-grandchildren: Macey Hunter, Cameron Willis, Luke and Beau Pollard; brother, Wallace Foster (Inez); brothers-in-law: Arlee Pollard, Byron Waldrip; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Foster, Frances Foster; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James E. Pollard. She was a bookkeeper for Sylvan Hills High School for many years. She was a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church for 65 years and taught Sunday School many years. She loved Bible study and her church family and many friends in the Gideon ministry. All of the grandchildren accompanied their grandparents on many of the Gideon meetings. Mom and dad enjoyed traveling and often took family and friends. She loved to cook and have big family gatherings at her home. She loved her family and extended family. Dad described her as "The Proverbs 31 Lady" and her life demonstrated that. She was loved by family and friends but we know she ran the race of life well and is enjoying a blissful eternity today. Memorials may be made to Gideons International. P.O. Box 1022, North Little Rock, Ark. 72115. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street.
