Dan L Konkle

Dan L. Konkle, 70, passed away peacefully in his home of 31 years in Heber Springs, Arkansas on Wednesday July 11, 2018, joining in heaven his parents: Melvin ‘Johnny' Konkle & Edith Ina Moore Konkle and brother: George Konkle. Dan was Born on June 19, 1948 in Warsaw, Indiana. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Clara (Short); sons: David & wife Mahria, Mike & wife Misty, both of Springdale, Arkansas, & Douglas of Conway, Arkansas; brother: Gale & wife Nancy of Logansport, Indiana; grandchildren: Madelyn Konkle, Matthew Fischer, Taylor & Jacob Edwards. Dan graduated from Purdue University with a bachelors in mechanical engineering then employed for 20 years by Aeroquip in both Van Wert, Ohio and Heber Springs and 25 years for Siemens, formerly Bridges Electric. Dan was an avid golfer and loved to work in his yard and garden. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church; Methodist Men, Order of the Eastern Star, Freemasons, Scottish Rite, & IEEE. Dan served his sons and community as an Assistant. Scout Master of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 200 for over 20 years being presented the District Award of Merit, The Woodbadge Staff, and sat on the Quapaw Area Council board. A celebration of life service will be Saturday July 28, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Heber Springs with visitation to follow.
