Melba Rose O'Brien

Melba Rose Boggan O'Brien, 82, of Russellville, formerly of Searcy, gained her heavenly wings on July 20, 2018. She was born February 3, 1936 in Des Arc to the late Troy and Lillian Story Boggan. Melba was proudly retired from the White County Group Home where she dedicated over 20 plus years of her life to loving and caring for others. During her retirement years, Melba enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Her fiery Irish temper and charismatic smile made everyone she met fall in love with her. Melba is proceeded in death by her parents, sisters, Jean Holt and Maddie Duncan, Mamie Nell Philips, brothers, Bill Boggan and Bob Boggan, Clarence Boggan, Tommy Boggan. Left here on Earth to cherish her loving memory is her beloved daughter, Karen O'Brien of Russellville, one grandson, Thomas Cranmer and girlfriend, Brandon Kidd of Searcy, one granddaughter, Sarah Cranmer of Bartlesville, Okla., and one brother, Jimmy Boggan and wife Joan of Forrest City. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to honor her memory. The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for the loving and compassionate care that they provided to Melba during her last few days. Visitation is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Garth Funeral Home, Des Arc with chapel services immediately following at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Welcome Home Cemetery. www.garthfuneralhome.com.
