Mary Elizabeth Saugey

Mary Elizabeth Saugey, 78, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Born December 5, 1939, she was a beloved wife and mother of three. She was a generous Christian lady who often gave beyond her means, and a faithful Catholic all her life. By her example she taught the golden rule, respect and compassion. She was the daughter of T.W. Daughenbaugh, Sr. and Clara Taldo. She loved to cook and was happiest feeding and entertaining family and friends. Her joy in life was her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Those passed before her: parents; husband, Henry Louis Saugey; son, James Michael Saugey; grandson, Christopher Michael Saugey; and sister, Tommie Gene Tucker. Survived by sons, Gene Saugey (Brenda) of Perryville, and Tommy Saugey (Barbra) of Little Rock; grandchildren, Amanda Taylor (Scott), Richard Saugey, and Michael Wayne Saugey; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ella Taylor, Hannah and Jacob Saugey, Brittney Mitchell, and Emily and Michael Saugey Jr.; brother, Tommy "Butch" Daughenbaugh (Jan); beloved nieces and nephews, Linda and Austin Appleby, T.W. "Tom" Daughenbaugh and Mary Ann Bowman; special friend and caregiver, Peggy West. A visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m., at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
