David Tyler Cook, 29, of St. Cloud, Florida, formerly of Jacksonville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2018 surrounded by his family and lifelong friends. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Martha Thompson on June 30, 1988. Tyler attended Jacksonville High School and studied at Pulaski Tech Vocational School, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. He served in the Army National Guard and was deployed with active duty forces in Tallil, Iraq. Tyler was awarded several service medals for his courageous service including the Army Achievement medal, National Defense medal, Iraq Campaign medal with campaign star, along with seven other awards and decorations. In life, Tyler was a generous person and in death even more so. As an organ donor he gave the gift of life to five others and eyesight to two more. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, D.L. and Corene Yardley; and stepfather, Patrick Caudill. Tyler is survived by his mother, Martha Thompson; father, Richard (Karla Delacruz) Lewis; siblings, David, Bo, and Cody Cook, and Dakota Thompson; lifelong friends, Antwan Holmes, Brandon Ivory, Josh McCray and Paxton Cooksey. Other survivors include his two services dogs and best friends, Goliath and Lucie; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 North J.P. Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas with Pastor Mike Prince officiating. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Liz Balcom and Oaklawn Racing and Gaming for making this Celebration of Life possible, and the Garage Church family for all of their love and support.
