Peggy Jane Robbins, age 82 of Little Rock, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Peggy was born in Shreveport, La, on April 28, 1936, to her late parents, Claude Wilson Caldwell and Lela Jane Armstrong. During her childhood, she lived in Arcadia, La.; Fordyce, Ark.; and Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1954, Peggy graduated from Little Rock Central High School and then went on to graduate in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. Peggy taught school in Piggott, Ark; Oceanside, Calif.; Pulaski Vo-Tech in Little Rock; and the Florence Crittenden Home. Survivors include 5 children: Andrew Toler of Alexander, Ark.; Margaret Toler of Little Rock, Ark.; Margie Trickey of Willow Springs, N.C.; Dr. Robin Robbins of Anchorage, Alaska; Ray F. Robbins of Key West, Fla.; and Dr. Gene Mapes of Raleigh, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Amber Alexander, and one brother, Carroll Caldwell. A visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas, (501-224-8300). A memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Little Rock, 62 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Ark., 72212 (501-227-0010). Burial will be at the Little Rock National Cemetery at a later date. She is loved and will be missed by family and friends, some of whose friendships spanned more than 75 years.
