Wylie Austin Dunn

Dr. Wylie Austin Dunn, age 86, of Searcy, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savoir on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Unity Health, White County Medical Center. He was born August 15, 1932 to Clyde Everett and Ruby Jo Vaden Dunn in Conway, Arkansas. He attended State Teachers College, now University of Central Arkansas, and graduated Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine after serving in the United States Air Force. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Searcy, Arkansas for 56 years. Dr. Dunn is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Bridges Dunn, a daughter, Sandra Dunn Oliveto and husband Chuck, a son, Mark Allen Dunn and wife Lois, and two grandsons all of Searcy, Arkansas. He had the "best grandsons in the world," Trey Oliveto and Ian Dunn, and did not miss a soccer game or a baseball game. He is also survived by two step-grandsons, Justin Sibley and his wife Fallon of Searcy, Arkansas and Jake Sibley and his wife Deanna of Lavaca, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Layton Dunn of Clinton, Arkansas. Dr. Dunn practiced as a veterinarian in Searcy for 42 years, and looked forward to going to work each day. He enjoyed his clients and the many friendships that were formed. He especially enjoyed working outdoors with large animals. In his retirement, he would still entertain the opportunity to treat an animal or make a farm call. Funeral services are Friday at 10 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park at Conway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Association's Judsonia Children's Home or First Baptist Church, Searcy, Arkansas.
