Riley Seevers

On Nov. 20, 2018, in the comfort of his home, Riley Seevers ran into the arms of his saviour, Jesus Christ. Riley was born in Des Arc on Aug. 22nd, 1933 to Annie Vaughn Seevers and Jim Ellis Seevers. He joined the air force July 13, 1951, and fought in the Korean and Vietnam wars. His tour of duties were many. After twenty years of service to his country, he retired July 31, 1971. He gave his life to the Lord and was called to preach while in the service. In 1976, he began farming until he retired from farming in the early 90's and served for one term as Prairie County Sheriff. For his entire life, Riley was a loving husband and father and devoted to serving Jesus and his country. Riley is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 5 sisters; his daughter, Kim McGuire; and his wife, Alice Jo Seevers. He has left behind his daughter, Cyndi Anderson; 2 sons, Keith (Cyndi) Seevers and Aaron Seevers; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Capshaw, Brandon Livingston, Brittany Berry, Shawn Kerr, Daniel Hart, and Justin Hart; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at Garth Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at First Baptist Church with burial in Sandhill Cemetery by Garth Funeral Home. www.garthfuneralhome.com.
