Helen Virginia Carey

Helen Virginia Powell Carey of Grapevine, Arkansas (Grant County), was born August 15, 1925, and passed from this world on November 22, 2018, at the age of 93 years. She was the daughter of Leslie Willis Powell and Annie Marie Hesterly Powell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Rev. Clinton Carey, and one son, Marlon Clinton Carey. She is survived by four children, Joann Hedden of Grapevine, Arkansas, Betty (Porter) Pruitt of Sheridan, Arkansas, Randall (Janie) Carey of Grapevine, Arkansas, and Trudy (Thomas) Greene of Lenoir, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Gary Hedden, Bruce (Lori) Hedden, Justi (John) Heath, Jacie (Chelsey) Martin, Matthew Carey, Christopher Carey, and Carlie Lape'; seven great-grandchildren, Anthony Hedden, Sarah Hedden, Dakota Hedden, Sierra Hedden (Micah) Cottrell, Chandler Heath, Alden (Calli) Heath, and Madison Martin; and four great-great-grandchildren. Helen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, and cooking, but most of all fishing and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loyal, faithful, and loving Pastor's wife, who dedicated her entire life to God, and her family. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. Burial will follow in Hedden Chapel Cemetery, near Grapevine. Visitation is also Saturday, from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary Hedden, Bruce Hedden, Matthew Carey, Christopher Carey, and great-grandsons, Alden Heath and Dakota Hedden.
