Frank Vandyke Miller, Jr. (Van), 64, of Hot Springs Village and Holly Grove passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark. Born on August 9, 1954 in Holly Grove, Ark., Van was the son of Frank Sr. and Jenny Breeding Miller. He was a 1973 graduate of Holly Grove High School and took pride in being a Boy Scout where he earned the level of Eagle Scout. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for four years, where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. It was there that he earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Following college, Van returned to the family farm and became the owner/operator of Flying Farmers. He also served as the Holly Grove Airport Commissioner. Van enjoyed horses and was a partner in Superior Racing Stables. He loved flying, cycling, and spoiling his grandchildren. He was married to Barbara Culp Miller and was a member of the Holly Grove Presbyterian Church and also attended the Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He is survived by: his wife, Barbara Culp Miller; his parents, Frank and Jenny Miller; his son, David Miller; his daughters, Meredith Kielty (Bobby) and Courtney Salmon (Kurt); his step son, Barry Simms (Lisa); his step daughters, Elizabeth Torres and Terry Saunders (Jake); his sisters, Pam Brown (Dale) and Jennifer Methvin (Roger); 5 grandchildren, Haley, Kaylin, and Aiden Kielty and Kolton and Karter Salmon; 9 step grandchildren; and 1 step great grandchild. Visitation is at 2:00 pm and Services at 3:00 pm both at the Holly Grove Presbyterian Church on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Interment to follow at Macedonia Cemetery, Holly Grove, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association at donatenow.heart.org or the Holly Grove Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 342, Holly Grove, Ark., 72069.
