JAMES COOPER USREY, age 66, of Little Rock, Ark., died Sept. 27, 2018 at SVI Hospital after a long battle with heart disease. On Sept. 14, 1952, he was born in Camden, Ark., to the late John Richie and Annie Erwin Usrey. He is survived by his partner, Worren Kissire of Little Rock; sisters, Martha Ellen Usrey of Shreveport, La., and Frances Usrey Raley (Dave) of Benton, Ark.; nieces, Camme Fell of Benton and Dawn Rickman (Todd) and nephew, John Cooper Usrey of Shreveport, La.; and eight great-nieces and nephews. He received an Associate's degree in Architectural Drafting from Southern Arkansas University. He used this skill for many years in Dallas, Atlanta, Shreveport and finally at Dillard's in Little Rock before becoming a licensed massage therapist. He will be remembered for his charming personality and infectious laugh! He was loved by all who knew him. He was sure of his salvation and today he is rejoicing in the presence of His Lord. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 at Calvary Baptist Church, 5700 Cantrell Road, Little Rock, Ark. Interment of Ashes, handled by Proctor Funeral Home, will be on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Maul Road, Camden, Ark. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County.
