Ruth Ann Stroud, 71, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away peacefully on April 7, 2019. She was born on April 21, 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Preston and Ruth Hood Whitley. She graduated from Hall High School in 1965 and Henderson State College in 1969. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She married Michael Stroud in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 15, 1972. She taught physical education at Mills High School in Little Rock, worked for the Christian school at Grace Fellowship Church in Russellville, Arkansas, and worked for Russellville Middle School. She volunteered as a Girl Scout camp counselor at Camp Ouachita, at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville and for the Young Life unmarried teen pregnancy assistance at Russellville High School. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Michael Stroud of Cabot, Arkansas; son, Barry (Beth) Stroud of Cabot, Arkansas; son, Andy (Kristi) Stroud of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Meredith and Carter Stroud of St. Louis, Missouri and Bruce Stroud of Cabot, Arkansas; sister, Bobbie Barnes of St. Louis, Missouri; mother-In-law, Demetra Stroud of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Judy Stroud of Austin, Texas: nephews, Sam (Amber) Barnes and Tim Barnes and great-niece, Evelyn Barnes and great-nephew, Camden Barnes all of St. Louis, Missouri. Visitation will be at I p.m., Saturday, April 13th in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Olen Taylor officiating.
