Kay Frances Mentry DeVito, 83, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away on April 7, 2019 in Fayetteville. She was born on March 21, 1936 in Dexter, New York. She attended Henderson Central School, and then Kay devoted her life to the restaurant business where she was the co-owner and operator of both Patsy's Pizza and the New Parrot Restaurant, formerly located on outer Washington Street in Watertown, N.Y. She also leased and operated the Little Chef Diner for many years and was the Operations Manager at the Watertown Golf Club, where she ran the kitchen and dining room and she also worked at AJ's Diner on State Street for many years. Kay retired from Walmart where she worked for 10 years after her restaurant career. Kay is survived by her two children, Cathy DeVito (Robert) Fink and Kyle (Rhonda) DeVito, three grandchildren, Nathan (Connie) Fink, Alexander (Christina) Fink and Christopher (Kayo) Fink and five great-grandchildren, her sisters, Betty Madore and Pauline Nichols, and one brother, Ted Mentry, Sr. and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Mentry, Sr. and Nina LaBelle Mentry Green, her husband, Pasquale DeVito, Sr., her long-time companion, Ulysses LeFevre, Jr. (Bud), five brothers, Harold, William, Edward, Hugh (Butch), and Larry, and two sisters, Elizabeth Hutton Williams and Katherine Dorchester. Kay was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary both of Watertown, NY. Her passion in life were her two cats, Callie and Rico, and all the strays that she took care of throughout her life. Please feel free to make a memorial donation to an animal rescue organization of your choosing or better yet the next time you see a stray cat find it a home. A graveside service will be held for family and friends at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown, N.Y., on Monday, June 17th at 2 p.m. A gathering will take place immediately following the graveside service at the American Legion, 138 Sterling Street, Watertown, N.Y.
