Miriam Jeanette Hartsell Morgan, 99 of El Dorado, Ark.; died on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at her home. She was born on September 11, 1919 to James Roy and Ray McLeod Hartsell in Lundell, Ark.She moved to El Dorado at the age of 8 and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1936. Jeanette was a 1939 graduate of the El Dorado Junior College. She married Aaron Timothy Morgan on September 30, 1939. She was a founding member and President of the El Dorado Art League, which evolved into the South Arkansas Arts Center. She was a member of the El Dorado Service League .Jeanette and Mary Ethel Morgan were featured in Garvin Woodland Gardens first Art Exhibit. Three generations of Morgans have been featured at the South Arkansas Arts Center. Jeanette has been a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1927 and loved her church family. She always had lunch in the oven on Sunday to welcome a newcomer to the church. Jeanette was director of the El Dorado School Districts Media Lab. She enjoyed serving as a Girl Scout and Campfire leader. She taught many people ceramics. Her bags were always packed and ready to travel at a moments notice with her husband Aaron. She enjoyed couples bridge, square dancing, and loved to dance at the Arlington Hotel with the big bands. She was a gracious southern lady, never without her lipstick. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 73 years, Aaron T. Morgan; and sister, Bettijo Hartsell White. Survivors include a son, Alan Morgan (Mary Ethel) of El Dorado; two daughters, Kathe Miller (Dean) of Kilgore, Texas, Wendy Turner (Ron) of Cornelius, N.C.; three grandsons, Dr. James Brandon Morgan (Lorraine) of El Dorado, Morgan Brock Turner (Melissa) of Palo Alto, Calif., Cameron Rodgers Turner (Janie) of Chandler, Ariz.; four granddaughters, Kimberly Miller Pitt (Matthew) of Fort Worth, Texas, Shea Morgan of Memphis, Tenn. Callan Turner of Chicago, Ill. and Madison Turner of Charlotte, N.C.; and 12 great-grandchildren, Celia Miller Pitt, Nina Miller Pitt, Bailey Morgan, Tucker Morgan, Parker Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Paige Morgan, Charliejane Turner, Luella Turner, Livie Turner, Nicolas Turner, and Mia Turner. Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. Friday, April 19, at Young's. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors with Rev. David Bush officiating.
