John L Payne

Robert L. Payne of Prattsville, Arkansas was born December 27, 1942 in Lake Village, Arkansas, the son of the late Ellis and Myra Fowler Payne. He served in the United States Army, having fought in Vietnam. He was a member of Ironton Baptist Church in Little Rock, but since moving to Prattsville, he attended Buie Baptist Church. He was past president of Metro Heating and Air of Little Rock, a member of Iron Springs Lodge #342, a member of Scottish Rites of Little Rock, and a member of Old River Rod n' Reel Club and Outcast Hunting Club. Mr. Payne died Saturday, April 20, 2019 at John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 76. Survivors: wife of 52 years, Arleen Betcher Payne of Prattsville; son, John (Brandi) Payne of Prattsville; brothers, Norman (Ina) Payne of Little Rock, James (Paulette) Payne of Halley, Millard (Lisa) Payne of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Courtney (Larry) Jones of North Little Rock and Hunter Payne of Prattsville and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2019 at Ironton Baptist Church in Little Rock with Dr. Sidney Thompson and Bro. Don Talleson officiating. Burial will follow at Ironton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517. Pallbearers are Hunter Payne, Larry Jones, Drew Payne, Kenny Payne, Stan Payne and Michael Steele.
