John B. Greenwood, 94, of Little Rock, entered heaven's gates on Good Friday, April 19th, 2019. He died peacefully at home. He is survived by his loving wife, Veva Joy (Hall), three children, Robin Lynn Pekar, John B. Greenwood II, and Connie Fay Hollingsworth, two brothers, Sonny Boy Greenwood and Reed Greenwood, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force as an aerial gunner on a B-17 Bomber. He later served in the Arkansas National Guard. John graduated from Arkansas State in 1950 and went on to receive his Master's degree in education from Ole Miss in 1951. He was employed by the Pulaski County Special School District as the Elementary Supervisor and later as Principal of Cloverdale Elementary School. His earlier teaching assignments were at Bono High School (basketball coach) and West Elementary School in Jonesboro. John had a passion for fishing and enjoyed taking friends and relatives along with him. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home of Little Rock, 10900 I30, on Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m Arrangements by Roller Drummond Funeral Home.
