Freda Mae Reading McLeroy, 75, of Springdale, went home to be with her Lord August 9, 2019. She was born on October 10, 1943 at the Shiloh Community of Newton County to Clyde and Dorothy (Reynolds) Williams. She was married 48 wonderful years to Linval Reading until he passed away in 2007. They had 8 beautiful children. She married Marcus McLeroy in 2009 and gained 5 step-children. Freda pastored the Prairie Grove Church of God for 14 years and served countless others throughout her life. She was simply known as "Sister Freda" to so many, and truly lived up to that title as she constantly put others needs before her own. She served God, her family and her church faithfully. She was also preceded in death by two children, Patricia and Dwayne; step-daughter, Christine; three brothers, Boyd, Ray, and Gene Williams; and a sister, Mary Ruth Williams. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sons, one daughter and six daughters-in-law, James and Karen, Johnny and Tina, Joey and Monica, Jason and Carrie, Jennifer and Brandi, Jeremy and Kim; four step-children, Rachel and Larry, Tara, Eric, Mardessa and Austin; two brothers, Bill Williams, Larry Williams; one sister, Reba Self; 13 grandchildren, Josh, SaVannah, Sean and his wife Jessika, Brittany and husband Britnell, Justin and wife Joelene, Kerrigan, Kaitlyn, Garon, Nash, Noah, Grayson, Brooklyn, Oliver; 8 great-grandchildren, Keelie, Maddox, Maverick, Alaina, Ryleigh, Madalyn, Athena, Madilyn; 15 step-grandchildren, Josh, Tori, Morgan, Gabrielle, Brianna, Christian, Jeremiah, Michael, Abigail, Joseph, Lydia, Eric Jr., Emily, Maegin, Izzy; and 4 step-great grandchildren Trilby, Izzabella, Kenna, Cameron. She was truly an angel on earth, and she will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, at First Assembly of God in Springdale. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery.
