Mildred Bearden, age 86, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died on August 7, 2019 after a brief illness. Mickey was born in Delight, Ark., on September 14, 1932. Her family moved to Poyen, Ark. where she graduated from Poyen High School. After graduating she moved to Little Rock, Ark., where her first job was managing a small private hospital named Grey's Clinic. She became Business Manager for Radiology Consultants that consisted of sixteen physicians and forty employees. Mickey married Dr. James Bearden on April 8, 1976. She was married for 43 years and loved traveling the world with the love of her life. Mickey enjoyed tennis and directed the Arkansas Junior Closed Tennis Tournament in Little Rock. After retirement, she and Jim moved to Hilton Head Island, S.C., where she was the league coordinator of the USTA, which included 100 teams and 1000 players. Upon returning to Hot Springs Village due to health reasons and to be closer to family, she became an active bridge player. She earned her Life Master designation at the Village Card Club. She is survived by her husband, Dr. James Bearden; daughter, Becky Rice (Ronnie); granddaughter, Cindy McCright (John); grandson, James Rice ( Casey); and great-grandchildren, Callie, Emily, and ,Jaxson McCright. Mickey was a wonderful, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered most for her smile, laughter, love of life, and compassionate giving nature.
