Linda Jean Henstley

Linda Jean (Grooms) Henstley, 81, of Velvet Ridge, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Unity Health in Searcy. She was born August 4, 1938 in Bald Knob to the late Crest Taylor Grooms and Lena Mae (Baker) Grooms. She and her husband owned and operated Henstley's Grocery in Velvet Ridge for more than 30 years. Linda enjoyed working in her flower garden and taking care of her hummingbirds, but her true passion and deep love was for her children and grandchildren. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bradford. She is survived by her four daughters, Carol Westcott of Tawas City, Michigan, Melaney Glaze (Bobby) of Bald Knob, Cherie Treece (Tracey) of Searcy and Tina McDougal (Leroy) of Velvet Ridge; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Luster Henstley; her parents, 12 siblings, Chris, Polly, Clara, Ruby, Mitt, Tee, Richard, Jerry, Donald, Cecil, Jamie and infant brother. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 24 at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Interment will follow in Velvet Ridge Cemetery.
